Did you know?

Sad music helps us regulate and process complex emotions

... which is why I compose dark, edgy, compulsive, strange music.

(Oh, and because I'd love to get you involved)

Our mental health improves when we experience a full range of different emotions

Research in psychology suggests that experiencing a wide, diverse range of emotions - a concept known as emodiversity - is linked to better mental and physical health.

This is similar to how biodiversity supports a healthy ecosystem, experiencing a "full palette" of emotions (both positive and negative) prevents any single emotion from dominating, which can enhance resilience and decrease depression.

My music is...

often  playful

sometimes  serious

occasionally  unsettling

usually  scary

[ painfully unremitting ]

[ heavily doom-laden ]

Don't believe it?

Then have a listen and focus on how this music makes you feel.

My heart lies in harmony. My head sits in rhythm. The chord progressions of the music must create mood and atmosphereMelodies - when used - must come from the harmonic progressions. Mood is everything to me. My music can't be ordinary, or simply pleasant! The space around the notes - sometimes a pause in the music, sometimes a dead acoustic without ambience, sometimes the reflections of sound within a space (echo or reverberation) - all of these elements are a part of the music. When the feeling is everyday, the music is dismissible. But whether the atmosphere is dark or light, challenging or liberating, you'll know when you listen, that you're on a journey: the one I intended for you.

Perhaps, you'll enjoy it!
